The Purpose- reduce snags and lost gear winding in. Not just sinkers but your whole rigs and saves wear and tear on your leaders and braid if it isn’t going through rough ground as much.
Reduces the work load of manual winding and electric retrieval when it’s on the plane too.
The Function- downward pressure and forward facing drag creates lift to get your gear up and out of the reach of reefs, structure and weed beds when on the plane.
Attaches 12-18” in front of your sinker via a swivel as a stopper and a breakaway length of leader.
